How important is handling and traction to you? Snowmobiling is an expensive sport. If you’re spending money on a top of the line snowmobile wouldn’t you want it to perform at its maximum potential?
I started using Bergstrom Skegs products 5 seasons ago and haven’t looked back. I was replacing my carbides 2-3 times a year, which gets expensive over the course of a season. Not only are Triple Point Carbides more durable (getting 3x the life out of a set) but they offer precision handling unlike any other product that I’ve ever ridden. Pair with Bergstrom’s Shim kit and Ski Savers, and your snowmobile’s handling characteristics are transformed.
Customer service seems to be non-existent these days but when you call Bergstrom you get to talk to not only the owner, but someone who is a snowmobiler. Clark and Clay are always there to answer your questions and inform you about their products.
My group of friends that I ride with are all on Bergstrom products. Once they have had a chance to jump onto my sled for a test drive, it doesn’t take long before they want the same setup. Precise handling when at speed and darting is gone!!

“Our favorite carbide for a few reasons, Bergstrom Triple Point carbides (or wear bars, or skegs) are going onto a new Polaris XCR 850 ski. This new level of bite will be matched to our custom post set up handling on this Polaris for amazing safe and flat cornering response.
The Triple Points use a very large, very tough host bar to reduce bending, which is filled in with hard weld ahead and behind the carbide to extend bar life. The triple point carbide insert itself should offer 3 times the life AND help to present a sharp profile to the snow as the snowmobile turns and tips. The left and right carbide blades are designed to actually self sharpen as they wear. Also included with the the bar is a ski saver to protect the keel AND a shim kit to help load the back of the ski.”
