Good ‘n Ugly Carbides Outlast Competitors 2 to 1
They’re not pretty… just the longest lasting single carbide on the market
For many trail riders, good, reliable, long lasting wear bars are what they need. Our Good ’n Ugly Carbides are exactly that… the longest lasting single carbide wear rod on the market.
Good ’n Ugly Carbides feature 4”, 6”, or 8” of diamond shaped carbide centered on a 1/2” round bar. The carbide is surrounded on each end with a full length of hardsurfacing, tapered on both ends to extend the life of the bar and the carbide. The carbide penetrates into the host bar as far as it extends out, so the carbide will never fall out unless the host bar is completely worn out . And we never use wear pads, which actually generate wear patterns and create drag.
Good ’n Ugly Benefits

Why do we call them Good ’n Ugly?
Making the most durable carbide wear rods on the market has never been cheap. The alloy we use is very durable, but difficult to work with, so they never look pretty. A less durable alloy would make it prettier, but less durable!
To reduce cost we do not remove the excess weld or braze material. This has absolutely no effect on function. Since wear rods bolt onto the bottom of the skis, being “pretty” has never been a priority.
Snowmobilers can decide if they want durable Good ’n Ugly Carbides or just “pretty” fair carbides.

For snowmobiles and skis that don’t need carbides, we offer hard surface wear bars. Our hard surface wear bars use the same host bar as our Good ‘n Ugly bars, but without the carbide. Then we add a full length of hardsurfacing for durability.
