Carbides wear down over time, reducing their effectiveness, making turning or stopping a challenge, even dangerous. A single trip through rough terrain or down a side road can quickly wear out a set of carbides. Before BITEHARDER, and the ability to re-sharpen, replacing your carbides was the only option and replacements can cost hundreds of dollars a season.

Carbide is one of the hardest metals known to man, and is extremely difficult to work with. BITEHARDER sharpening tools use a material that’s even harder: diamonds. Once sharpened the new carbide edges can preform better than the original carbide edges, and they also last longer. And carbide edges can be sharpened multiple times.

Carbide Runner Sharpening Tool (STD series)

The STD Series Tool is designed as a maintenance tool to easily keep your runner’s edge sharp, without the need to remove them from your ski. The Sharpening Tool is used with any cordless drill to create an edge which  outperforms factory sharpened edges.

Carbide Runner Sharpening Tool (PRO series)

PRO Series Tools operate similarly to STD Series but operate at higher speed (10,000 RPMs minimum), using a battery or corded electric die grinder. PRO Series use superior quality diamond cutting media which provide for longer carbide life (up to five times longer than STD Series).
